Hi Pauline,
I just wanted to congratulate you on a brilliant website! I am about to start my new business in the Elgin area and was just doing some research about childminders in area and happened upon your site. Thank you for giving me lots of ideas for my future site….. I mean in the far future as I’ve still lots to do.
I have come across a lot of different views regarding fees and payments of holidays etc. Do you have many parents question you? I don’t want to come across as a pushover and know a few that do not charge for their own holiday and work the bank holidays for usual rate. Also I notice that you include lunch in your fees, do you have a reduced rate if the parent wants to provide a packed lunch? and included in your fees are wipes, nappies etc? Sorry for all the questions! But I have gained more out of your site than the mixed messages from others. Hope to hear from you soon.

Have you joined the SCMA forums? They are for all registered childminders. You will find so much help there from other childminders in the area. You will also receive information from SCMA on what the average fees are in your area, and what to charge during holidays etc.
