Payment of Fees – Please read, important changes

Please note that all fees are due to be paid in advance from Monday the 4th of January, as per the letter sent home in November.

All fees must now be paid for in advance, at the time of dropping your child off on their first day of childcare.  If it is not paid then I will refuse childcare until it is paid.

This brings my service up to the same as other childminders and nurseries in the area.

Daily Diaries

As you will have read from the last 2 news letters, I have been finding it very difficult to keep up with the daily diaries. With being so busy now I felt part of my day was being wasted writing up the diaries, and also rushing to get some filled in before parents arrived. So I have now done away with these books and have decided to make use of the website and post what we have done on here. It means instead of writing out 6 books, I am only writing it once. No personal details about your child will be written on the blog, I will speak to you personally when you pick your child up about any concerns etc that may have arisen. I will just give a general brief account of what we have done.

I can not guarentee that this will be written on a daily basis, but it will certainly be written up each weekend. I will also start using your email addys to send out newsletters and any information about updates etc. So please make sure that your email addresses are all up to date. I will send you all an email today with the new password for the site and also to test that all email addresses are valid :)

Latest Inspection Report

My latest inspection report is now online for you to view. It can be found at:

When you get to the page, you will see my details, above that are some tabs that say Service Details, Quality Grades, Inspection Reports, Enforcements and Complaints. Click the inspection Reports and you can view this years one from there. There is also a copy of it on my notice board if you want to take it away to read.

I am very pleased with how this years inspection went and very pleased with my grades :) It now means that I should not be inspected until September 2011.

New Bears – Jo has retired

I have purchased 2 new bears for the children to look after. Jo bear has gone into retirement for a while. We now have Gerry the giraffe and Lou Lou the lamb.

I had some help in chosing them, and making them. Iona and Marta came with me to Bear Mountain where we spent a morning picking out a bear for the boys and one for the girls. They then helped the lady in the shop to make them up. They put a special wish into each bear. This is a little nought symbol that they held up to the sky, made a wish and then put it into the bears stuffing. They then each took a kiss, held it to their hearts and then added that into the bears stuffing too :) So as you can see these are very special bears, filled with love and wishes :) Each bear has its own little costume to wear and also a set of pyjamas for them to change into at night. I am sure the children will look after my bears and their clothes very well :)

I will start putting these bears home with the children in the New Year. Hopefully the children will have loads of fun with them :)

New Photos added

I have added some new photos to the parents photo blog page.  There are not as many as I hoped, I lost a whole lot of photos and documents when I dropped my external hard drive :(   Now it wont work and it would cost me an arm and a leg to get someone to retrieve the data off it.   Now I have to start rewriting some of my childminding documents, thankfully I had some uploaded on the website here for other childminders to use.

Password changed

As we have had a child leave this week, I have changed the password on the ‘parent only pages’

I have texted you all with the new password.

Any problems with it just let me know :)

Childrens details

After receiving a complaint about childrens details on show on the website, I would just like to make it clear that the posts attached to Jo Bears adventures are with the full written permission of the parents.

The parents have signed paperwork stating that they are happy for it to be shown on the public website, and they have also given permission for me to use their childs first name on the posts.  Those that dont want their childs name used will be referred to as child ‘A’ child ‘B’ and so on.

I have also been given written permission to use photographs of the children on the website if I wish to do so.

The parents know that I would never publish any details that are of a private or sensitve nature.
